About the Program
In August of 2009, the EVSC put a Netbook computer in the hands of all our 7,500 high school students and teachers. This eLearning revolution supports the district's mission of equity and excellence for all students.
Every student, regardless of income or family background, will have access to a Netbook computer for use at both school and home.
Individual ownership will help promote concepts of self-motivation and enthusiastic participation by providing all with access to a powerful current tool to enhance learning.
Beginning the initiative in the high schools is an integral piece in assisting students as they prepare for college and careers. Computer use is required in nearly all university programs and professions, thus a natural and constant access in high school will better prepare students for this inevitable future.
The EVSC will continue to infuse technology into its classrooms across all departments to enhance active, student-centered learning. Our goal will be to achieve a seamless integration of technology into daily learning and through continued experimentation, add to our growing inventory of best practices and build digital resources across the curriculum.
